Director of Osteopathic Recognition
Fitchburg MA
UMass Memorial Medical Group seeks an Osteopathic Family Medicine physician to work as a leader in the Osteopathic space for the organization. We welcome and support physician caregivers from all Academic Ranks to apply and join us in our relentless pursuit of healing.
You will provide primary care family medicine services including OMM in our Fitchburg clinic and work alongside other DOs whose goal is to improve access to osteopathic evaluation and treatment for our patients. The Department of Family Medicine at UMass Memorial
Teaching Requirements:
Actively participates in teaching our residents to include 12 lectures per month one of which is an osteopathic manipulation workshop for both DOs and MDs
Maintains an osteopathic student elective which includes training in OMM. You will select and supervise osteopathic students on elective clerkships in the residency clinic 1/month 8 months per year.
You will have the opportunity to teach DO residents in the UMass Worcester Family Medicine Residency to include precept/supervise residents as they incorporate osteopathic manipulation in continuity clinic
As a leader in this space you will participate in resident evaluation with the CCC and program evaluation committee which will also include quarterly feedback to residents and reports for the CCC
Director of Osteopathic Recognition:
Maintain Osteopathic Recognition curriculum and program with a 24month rolling curriculum (AOA residency before the merger and Osteopathic Recognition since the merger)
Update and keep current Osteopathic Recognition requirements.
Update and adjust the osteopathic curriculum to fit the expertise and focus of the Director of Osteopathic Recognition and DO faculty.
Coordinate osteopathic curriculum with faculty members.
Participate in NEOMEN (University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine New England Osteopathic Education Consortium)
Review all osteopathic applicant files and interview candidates. A consortium of Program Directors from the Northeast region and faculty from University of New England
Represent the program in national residency fair (ACOFP conference yearly)
