Hiring Range: $33.90 $39.28 per hour Pay Grade Range: $33.90 $46.92 per hour
Compensation
Pierce County Library System offers a compensation program which recognizes qualifications and experience relevant to each position. The starting pay is established typically within the hiring range below based upon the experience of the individual hired into the role. Our compensation package also includes annual increases for each additional year of experience and tenure in the role up to the maximum (current year maximum outlined in pay grade range above). Eligibility for overtime is exclusive to positions which are FLSA status nonexempt below.

Position Summary
Designs develops and conducts training program delivery for the Pierce County Library System management and staff. Conducts assigned workshops using adult learning practices to facilitate development of skills and communication of Library policies and practices. May also provide technical training. Researches available training sources for development of content and method information in consultation with training programs and Library goals. Tracks training effectiveness and areas of opportunity to inform future policy/training recommendations and to ensure positive experience of training program customers. May serve as a lead on training and development projects; coordinates training and development teams.
Essential Functions

Participates as an active member of the Staff Training Teams. Coordinates training activities system wide.
Ensures the delivery of highquality customerfocused services; assists in ensuring the Librarys services appropriately meet the needs of the community.
Leads designs coordinates develops and delivers highquality training presentations and training materials in a variety of formats and delivery methods using adult learning principles and best practices.
Facilities coordinates analyzes and participates in evaluation processes of training programs based on participants feedback and other layers of feedback regularly. Makes recommendations as a result of the feedback.
Works within Staff Training Teams for development of Personal Learning Plans. Consults with staff departments and managers to help with the development of others Personal Learning Plans.
Participates in and may lead communication processes around the availability of training opportunities for staff. Supports staff departments and managers in their development of instruction for other staff and patrons.
May serve as a lead subject manner expert participant or support for department or system wide projects.
Assists as necessary in supporting the SharePoint and Public websites.
Coordinates and conducts a variety of other duties and special projects as assigned.
Demonstrates punctuality and regular and consistent attendance.
Brings matters of public concern regarding waste inefficiency discrimination and safety to the attention of Library Management.
Works in compliance with Library and departmental policies procedures and service standards.
Accurately communicates the Librarys policies to members of the public in all jobrelated contacts.
Interprets and explains the Librarys policies and procedures; resolves customers concerns and requests.
Positively reflects Pierce County Library Systems mission vision and values to members of the public and to staff.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

The employee is expected to perform or possess the following:
Minimum Requirements including Education License or Certifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field and three years experience administering employee training programs and
Minimum 2 years work experience in training or learning development ; OR
Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required knowledge and skills and allows successful performance of the job.
A valid Washington State Drivers License is required.
Must pass criminal background screening prior to hire.
The ability to work evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule and to adapt to schedule changes on short notice is required.
Ability to continue to become informed about emerging trends and developments in instructional design staff development learning application and evaluation.
Knowledge of training and organizational development principles and best practices for adult learning.
Knowledge and experience in applying multilayered training evaluation principles.
Experience implementing high quality staff learning programs activities and initiatives.
Knowledge of designing and developing high quality training classes materials learning materials and presentations.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Technology Requirements:
Required:
Ability to effectively navigate basic electronic record creation and storage (e.g. timecard/HRIS performance review network drive storage)
Use of basic office equipment (e.g. PC printer phone fax mouse security alarm)
Basic keyboard and alpha/numeric data entry skills
Basic PC navigation skills in a windows based environment; ability to connect and print
Ability to navigate search and use basic web functions and applications
Intermediate MS Office Suite skills (e.g. Outlook Word Excel) to satisfactorily complete job responsibilities
Presentation Software
Search & Retrieval system experience or ability to work with Bibliographic data to satisfactorily complete job responsibilities
Desired:
MOS Certification or equivalent in MS Office Suite
Integrated Library System Inventory or Data Management system Polaris (for Librarians only)
Overdrive or eBook (Librarians only)
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Work is conducted in a normal office setting that provides comfortable lighting temperature and air conditions. Occasional light lifting such as three to four reams of paper four or five books or other library materials up to 35 pounds may be required. Subject to sitting and standing for extended periods of time walking bending reaching and lifting objects weighing up to 3035 pounds. May lift or push up to 50 pounds as needed with assistance.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting rooms e.g. use of safe work place practices with office equipment and/or avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations.
Work may be performed in a library environment and involve regular contact with the public and/or require push/pull loaded carts.
