Job Description

The Rockland Public Schools is seeking an experienced professional to join our administrative team to provide leadership and assume management responsibility for the direction coordination integration and implementation of technology for the Rockland Public Schools. The Director of Technology will be responsible for planning purchasing installing and maintaining the physical technology of the district. This is a handson position with responsibilities that range from strategic and longrange planning to the implementation of systemwide technology solutions and individual training and support. Responsibilities: 1. Supervises assigned technology staff for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the workforce and meeting operational requirements.2. Directs the installation of technology systems and tools (e.g. hardware software systems intercoms alarms surveillance cameras software applications network) to ensure that systems are functioning properly.3. Manages procurement inventory and surplus of technology equipment systems and related services to ensure that all technology purchases are consistent with the district technology objectives and that equipment is properly inventoried or surpluses consistent with local and state regulations.4. In cooperation with Assistant Superintendent and guided by the districts Strategic Plan develops and implements a comprehensive dynamic longrange technology plan for the district.
