Position Summary
Is this position exempt from overtime pay

Serves as a Summer Music Camp at NorthBay Counselor by assisting the Camp in supervising and leading activities during a five day summer camp experience at NorthBay Adventure Camp. Counselors will also serve as section leaders and assistants during rehearsals with their assigned ensemble.
Teachers must have experience as a classroom teacher or as a junior instructor (formerly called junior counselor) at AACPS Music Camp and be at least 21 years or older.
Teaching Assistants must have experience as a camp instructor or camp instructor in training and must be 18 years or older would work with the upper elementary to high school age campers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assists and works directly with the Summer Camp Director/Assistant Director in planning and leading activities for the campers.
2. Supervises campers throughout the day and night if applicable.
3. Organizes the set up and break down of necessary equipment and materials needed for instructional programs and activities.
4. Assists in developing instructional materials and activities for use in the outdoor education program.
5. Directs and oversees dining hall meal procedures to assure proper meal atmosphere and behavior.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education
Completed 9th grade at the time of camp.
Experience
Experience in working with children in a group setting.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to work as a team member with other counselors and adult staff members.
Responsible friendly enthusiastic patient and willing to learn.
Participation in counselor training.
