Job Description
Junior Structural Steel Draughtsman
Krugersdorp Gauteng
Salary: R8500 (depending on experience and ability)
An established steel fabrication business based in Krugersdorp is seeking a Junior Structural Steel Draughtsman to join their growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior candidate with a passion for engineering drawings and an interest in building a longterm career in the structural steel industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing basic structural steel detail drawings for fabrication
- Work closely with the senior draughting team and workshop staff to ensure drawings meet production requirements
- Interpret engineering sketches and convert them into detailed fabricationready layouts
- Maintain accuracy in all drawings and revisions
- Participate in ongoing training and skills development
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant qualification or training in draughting (mechanical or structural preferred)
- Basic understanding of structural steel components and detailing
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar software)
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
