About the Role
The role of the Optical Assistant is key to the smooth running of the practice. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership and pride in their work.
Our Optical Assistants have a varied day compared to typical OAs youll get involved in many activities throughout the practice so your day here will fly by!
The practice also has a track record of investing in our people. We know that its critical to your growth and long term happiness.
This job is for you if; you have excellent communication skills a friendly nature and genuinely care about people. Youll also want to continue to learn develop your career and make a valued contribution to the Ellesmere Port community.

Full training is provided depending on your needs. You may have extensive optical experience or you might need training from scratch. Your experience will be reflected in your agreed salary.
Previous successful candidates have been from healthcare customer service and retail.

The day to day job involves:
- Booking appointments by telephone & in person
- Running a busy reception desk
- Preparing patients for their eye examination and building rapport
- Completing prescreening examinations accurately
- Assisting with dispensing glasses as well as dealing with repairs and adjustments
