Job Description:
Northern Trust is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Platform Software Engineering SVP Leader to join our team. This role will be pivotal in driving the strategic direction and of our platform engineering initiatives ensuring the delivery of innovative and scalable solutions that enhance our developer experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Platform Software Engineering team aligning with the companys overall goals and objectives. Develop and execute a comprehensive platform engineering strategy that supports the organizations growth and innovation.
Developer Experience: Champion the developer experience by implementing AI assistive technologies common shared frameworks and tools that streamline development processes and enhance productivity. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
AI Assistive Technology: Lead the integration and adoption of AI assistive technologies to support developers in their daytoday tasks improving code quality reducing development time and enhancing overall efficiency.
Common Shared Frameworks: Oversee the development and maintenance of common shared frameworks that promote consistency reusability and best practices across the organization. Ensure these frameworks are scalable secure and aligned with industry standards.
Integration as a Service: Build and run integration as a service capabilities enabling seamless connectivity between various systems and applications. Ensure robust and scalable integration solutions that support the organizations business needs.
Enterprise DevSecOps Practices: Implement and promote enterprise DevSecOps practices ensuring that security is integrated into every stage of the software development lifecycle. Drive the adoption of automated testing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
Data Pipeline Engineering: Lead the design development and maintenance of data pipelines that support the organizations datadriven initiatives. Ensure data pipelines are scalable reliable and optimized for performance.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong collaboration and communication across crossfunctional teams including product management IT and business stakeholders. Ensure alignment and transparency in project goals timelines and deliverables.
Talent Development: Attract retain and develop top engineering talent. Provide mentorship guidance and career development opportunities to team members fostering a highperformance and inclusive culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within platform engineering or software development.
Strong understanding of AI assistive technologies common shared frameworks integration as a service DevSecOps practices and data pipeline engineering.
Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
Experience with cloud platforms microservices architecture and modern software development methodologies
Salary Range:
$USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
