Position: Program Clinician (Mental Health Therapist) Salary: $70000 $76000 per year plus benefit Status: Full Time; Exempt (Position Ends: 06/30/2025 Reports to: Program Director (Behavioral Health Component)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director and Behavioral Health Component Program Director the Bilingual Program Clinician/Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing clinically appropriate therapeutic support services for youth between the ages of 6 21. Most services will be school or communitybased in San Francisco public schools with teens and their families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide clinically appropriate therapeutic support services for youth of all races/backgrounds between the ages of 6 21 which include clinical assessment screening diagnosis treatment planning progress notes discharge planning etc.
Provide individual family and group therapy with identified families including parent emotional support and training.
Develop and conduct activities that address each youths unique social emotional and behavioral needs through skill development in such areas.
Provide case management services for comprehensive services and linkagesadvocate for client and family access to services and collaborate with allsystems involved with the family.
Deliver services in a manner convenient to families which may includeoccasional home visits or evening calls.
Work with the parent/family to motivate and reinforce their childs behavioralchanges.
Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with SFDPHrequiredstandards.
Act as liaison between all systems (i.e. schools Juvenile ProbationDepartment Public Defenders Office community partners) and CYC.
Contribute to any quality improvement/outcome measurement tracking development and data gathering as assigned.
Make appropriate referrals to CYC programs and other agencies.
Participate in CYC agency fundraising and community outreach events
Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in psychology psychotherapy counseling or social work field plus minimum of one year of direct experience working with youth preferably including counseling and group facilitation. Note: This position will be supervised by licensed Clinical Psychologist who can provide supervision for Masters or Doctoral level students or graduates still accumulating hours for graduation or licensure (with BBS or Board of Psychology).
Experience working with AsianPacific Islander (API) youth and families with mental health issues
Experience using Epic (SFDPH electronic record) is a definite plusKnowledge of communitybased agencies in San Francisco
Ability to work with ethnically diverse groups of lowincome youth
Bilingual in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) highly preferred.
