Summary

The Media Technology Coordinator is responsible for the design installation optimization performance reliability coordination and support of media technology in learning spaces and meeting rooms on campus. The Coordinator works with management other staff faculty and AV vendors to identify media technology requirements design and implement solutions and train and support faculty and staff to help increase the rate of adoption and help create a frictionless technology experience. They also are responsible for ensuring that existing media equipment in learning spaces or meeting rooms is maintained properly and fully functional. In addition this position works with divisional management to plan and maintain media technology budgets and upgrade schedules.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Technology Services this position is also responsible for providing media coordination and support for live campus events. In addition they also provide administrative oversight to the event scheduling software. They work with faculty staff and students to help plan events ensure proper staffing is met and the necessary equipment is provided. This also includes the support of live sound projection and live video streaming during events. The role will also work with conferencing and lecture capturing technologies. Live event support requires some nights and/or weekend hours.

The Coordinator plays an important role in providing superior customer support to all members of the Wentworth community and helping to increase the adoption of advanced media technology.

Essential Function:

  • Work with Tech Spot to determine media related requests coordinate requests and events and manage inventory of media related equipment.

  • Provide administrative oversight for event scheduling software including but not limited to onboarding users auditing large programming spaces and creation of new event forms workflows and enhancements.

  • Provides audio visual services for internal and external events primarily located in meeting space and classrooms on campus (includes setup operation and breakdown of various media equipment).

  • Analyze and troubleshoot incoming user requests and provide problem diagnosis solutions or escalation to get the issues resolved.

  • Provide excellent customer service follow up and communication to all users on campus.

  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal support staff to ensure accurate problem reporting and maintain communications with customers during problem resolution.

  • Produce review and update documentation and knowledgebase.

  • Recommend modifications to enhance and streamline processes.

  • Maintain indepth knowledge of supported products and services.

  • Identify training that will enhance and improve customer support.

  • Monitor reported problems to identify trends and recommend solutions.

  • Assist other help desk staff and mentor student workers

  • Perform health checks to mediated rooms perform basic equipment repairs and/or coordinate third party repair services by outside vendors determine equipment that is nearing and/or has reached end of life request replacement and develop and maintain standards for media technologies.

  • Assist with future classroom conference and event space media systems design.

  • Support additional assigned projects that support the overall Technology Services function and improve customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree.

  • Minimum of 35 years of relative experience.

  • Experience with analog soundboards wired and wireless mic systems projectors and presentation software.

  • Excellent organizational time management and communication skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively in a fastpacedenvironment.

  • Proficient with both Mac and Windows operating systems.

  • Experience with Audio Visual ecosystems; classroom theater conference rooms.

  • Ability to work with a variety of users and expertise promoting a customer serviceorientedattitude.

  • Ability to work independently and part of a team with proven multitaskingexperience.

Preferred Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Classroom technologies including projectors.

  • Crestron control systems.

  • Knowledge of bothanalog and digital audio consoles.

  • Video conference platforms; Zoom Microsoft Teams.

  • Lecture capture devices.

  • Basic networking and server usage

  • Video production including recording and editing Creative Cloud or Final Cut.

  • Live streaming and hybrid events.

  • Experience collaborating with departments and promoting technologies andservices.

Position Details:

  • This is a fulltime benefitseligible nonexempt position 37.5 hours/week) and is eligible for overtime.

  • This role is fully onsite 5 days a week. Occasional night or weekend work may be required.
