About Orange Sky

We are on a mission to Positively Connect Communities and we do this by providing the worldsfirst free mobile laundry and shower service to people experiencing homelessness. We offer a platform for everyday Australians to connect by creating a safe positive and supportive environment for people who are too often ignored or who feel disconnected from the community.


The Role

Our aim is to increase our impact and connect more Friends on the street striving to improve is in our DNA at Orange Sky. This role is a key member of our dynamic Operations Team working within a group of six Operations Support Officers who are vital to the smooth operation and continually improvement of services across Australia.


In a nutshell this role is responsible for:

  • Providing support to all aspects of the general volunteering journey including all aspects of the lifecycle from recruitment to exiting
  • Establishing & managing relationships with volunteers answering questions and escalating anything that could impact on a positive volunteering experience at Orange Sky
  • Coordinating volunteer enquiries
  • Assisting with responding to asset incidents and resolution in a timely manner
  • Liaising with external suppliers and contractors to facilitate continuity of service
  • Building new volunteer teams for new and existing services ensuring rosters are full and a pipeline of volunteers exists
  • Delivering general volunteer inductions

Additionally the ideal applicant has:

  • Proven experience in a similar role 23 years) in a fastpaced organisation ideally in the nonforprofit space
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce
  • Welldeveloped written skills and problemsolving ability
  • Ability to travel and work flexibly as required
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage complex and competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Proactive attitude and a genuine passion for our cause.
