We have an anticipated vacancy for aProgram Director to work at our substantially separate school Pilgrim Academy located in North Plymouth. Pilgrim Academy is a small structured therapeutic school for students experiencing significant social emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. The goal of placement is to assist students in reestablishing and maintaining typical adolescent responsibilities such as: consistent school attendance appropriate emotional regulation effective interpersonal skills and consistent completion of school work.The school offers students an opportunity for psychological academic and personal growth.
This isan administrative position in our socialemotional/behavioral program.
Wellqualified candidates must have appropriate Massachusetts certification in Special Education Administration and experience with students dealing with social emotional disabilities and/or high functioning ASD. This is a yearround position.
This is a fulltime position to start July 1 2025.
Performance Responsibilities
General
1. Work with district personnel regarding all matters pertaining to the case management of students in the Academyprogram.
2. Assist in the coordination of IEP development and annual review process for all students.
3. Responsible for school discipline and working with staff to implement behavioral systems.
4. Administer overall daily operations including transportation schedule parent communication student disciplinecommunication with PAC and district administrators etc.
5. Work with staff to develop curriculum aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
6. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law Collaborative policy and administrative regulation.
7. Responsible for working with and overseeing other staff to ensure applicable state reporting is completed.
Personnel Duties
1. Assist in recruitment interviewing and selection of staff members.
2. Supervise and evaluate professional staff and oversee evaluation of paraprofessionals.
3. Develop and/or access appropriate professional development opportunities for staff.
4. Lead staff meetings in conjunction with professional team members.
5. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students families and districts concerning both academic and behavioral progress.
6. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with greater community and with outside support agencies.
Other
1. All duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
2. Follow all rules and regulations as required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
