Essential Functions:
Consults with faculty and staff in exploring evaluating and implementing new equipment and software.
Manages the lifecycle of desktop computers and printers within the STEM departments. This will include hardware configuration imaging software configuration deployment maintaining inventory records ongoing troubleshooting and repair and decommissioning.
Manages several computers labs ensuring they are secure and meeting the needs of faculty and students.
Works collaboratively with the larger Client Services group and other groups within ITS to plan for the effective delivery of services troubleshoots issues and resolves problems.
Works with the Information Desk staff to respond to help requests in a timely manner and track trends to improve the overall process.
Works with other members of the Client Services and Academic Technology groups to provide technology training for the university community.
Conducts research about advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decisionmaking.
Leads and/or collaborates on various ITS projects across the university.
Provides robust documentation of inventory procedures and work performed.
Additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Pay:
$63844.00 Pay Commensurate with Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and at least two years experience in a science or technology support environment preferably in higher education or a combination of education and experience from which a similar skillset would be obtained.
Intense curiosity about information technology and motivation to learn new technologies as needed.
Customer service focus. Demonstrated consultative skills required please identify such in cover letters.
Required technical skills include configuring and supporting the Windows and Mac environments and troubleshooting technological problems.
Knowledge of office productivity and email tools is essential. Strong troubleshooting and communication skill are essential. Knowledge of imaging software desktop management tools computational software and Linux is helpful.

Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward downward or outward.
Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw drag haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Working Conditions: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Types of Work: Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for Light Work.
