Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Head of Legal and Compliance who will ensure compliance by properly managing legal regulatory ethical compliance matters in a pragmatic risk based approach. You will run a lean internal organization and provide strategic guidance on legal regulatory or compliance matters at Group level.
Your tasks
- Ensuring companywide adherence to compliance and legal requirements
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and ensure compliance with regulations
- Develop and propose effective defense strategies and crisis management
- Identifying legal and compliance risks and providing advice
- Provide accurate and timely advice on a variety of legal and compliance matters
- Ensure employees are trained and coached on compliance and legal compliance and sustainability issues
- Maintain and update internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance to prevent inappropriate unethical and illegal behavior
- Drafting and strengthening agreements contracts and other legal documents
- Addressing violations of rules regulations and policies and reviewing and proposing the initiation of investigative procedures
- Identify receive and refer compliance issues for investigation and resolution
- Apply effective risk management and proactively advise on risk mitigation business continuity concepts cyber security measures information/data protection concepts and potential legal issues
- Investigate and evaluate various risk factors related to business decisions and operations
- Ensures compliance with embargo rules of US CH DE and EU and the applicable local regulations
- Representing the company in legal or compliance matters to third parties
- Sparring partner for CISO Data Protection Officer and divisional Legal Counsels
Your profile
- Law degree of one of the EU Member States
- 5 years of work experience handling legal matters in an inhouse role
- Deep knowledge of international European and local laws and regulations as well as industry standards and compliance regulations
- A practical businessoriented approach to identifying and solving business and compliance problems with the ability to act with urgency and passion
- Proficiency in English and one other European language is desirable
- Knowledge and experience with privacy and data privacy laws in Europe
- Excellent research writing negotiation counselling and communications skills and a positive client service orientation
- Willingness to pitchin and help on legal projects across the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- ability to balance compliance with the competing demands of the business.
- Accountability sound judgment and the ability to take ownership of an issue and provide concise and timely advice
- Integrity accuracy and attention to detail
- Very high affinity in the area of digitalization and in leading project organizations strongly developed crosslinked thinking and doer mentality
