Job Description
Open to remote work except in South Dakota Vermont and West Virginia.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $166100.00 in our lowest geographic market to $392700.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidates location qualifications skills and experience.Information about benefits can be found here.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We seek passionate engineering leader to join our team. As a Director of Engineering youll be responsible for leading Nikes Search & Discover platforms and services. You are a seasoned leader who can evangelize technical direction mentor the engineers influence crossfunctional technical teams and collaborate with nontechnical stakeholders. As a Director you will be expected to own organizationallevel initiatives from conception to operationalization demonstrating an understanding of the full software development lifecycle. You will be expected to provide technical vision and guidance to your teammates; therefore strong communication skills are critical in this role.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
You will be integral part of Search and Discovery platform team at Nike Global organization. You will work with geographically distributed engineering product management program management and SRE teams to deliver the consumer facing application and backend services. Youll be influencing the design and implementation of scalable discovery services. Youll also contribute to machine learning platforms and tools to enable Search Browse and recommendation. WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
You will be working with Engineering Product Management Program Management Data Science and SRE Teams.
Essential job functions
Influence and Lead the design and development of technical solutions for the Search and Discovery services
Establish and communicate a strategic vision for multiple systems and solution areas
Actively participating in design development and debugging activities demonstrating deep understanding of engineering principles and practices
Partner with Product Management Program Management Data Science & Engineering leadership to establish an architectural runway for building Search & Discover platform solutions in consideration of the product roadmaps.
Adopt and influence best in class design and architecture principles of security scale uptime and reliability
Partner with business leaders to provide expert technical advice and influence strategic decision making
Contribute to architecture guiding principles development standards training and hiring.
Document present and influence technology solutions to various teams in the organization
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelors degree required; advanced degree in business or engineering preferred.
10 years of technology experience in software development or management of full stack software solutions with a solid understanding of business needs.
The ability to establish credibility through vision thought leadership technical expertise and implementation.
Working understanding of building platform/services for ML needs (familiarity with SageMaker and other frameworks)
Experience in microservices architecture domain driven design and RESTful APIs
Strong understanding of scalable platforms and technologies.
Ability to lead globally distributed engineering teams.
Ability to work collaboratively at all levels in matrix environment
