Job Description

Seeking a fulltime Wellness teacher for next school year. We seek a creative educator to join a missiondriven studentcentered program grounded in the Ten Common Principles of the Coalition of Essential Schools. Our new colleague will serve as a member of the Wellness Domain teaching physical activity classes 34 days/week AND health classes 12 days/week and serving as an advisor. He/she/they will plan collaboratively with a team of teachers develop new standardsbased curriculum as needed assess student work using rubrics and write narrative progress reports.
  • Certification as a Massachusetts teacher in Physical Education and/or Health preferred.
  • Experience facilitating physical activity in large groups or working with teens in a fitnessrelated setting.
  • Experience teaching health topics like human sexuality nutrition addiction and violence prevention.
  • Applicant will understand social emotional learning (SEL) and a willingness to work with other around SEL practices.
  • A successful application will have experience working with students grade ranging from 712.
  • A high level of comfort with motivating teenagers to be physically active and playful.
