Title: Extra Help Research Associate

The Extra Help Research Associate will conduct various synthetic organic experiments and mentor students regarding equipment instrumentation and synthesis.

Demonstrated knowledge of the following:
Synthesis Purification and Isolation of Organic Compounds: Ability to conduct wet chemistry synthesis under Schlenk line techniques with handson expertise in chromatography (Flash column TLC GC HPLC) and other purification techniques such as extraction recrystallization and distillation.
Analytical Proficiency: Competency with spectroscopy such as FTIR NMR 1H 13C 19F 2D) UVVis; spectrometry (M.S. and polarimetry to measure optical purity.
Database Skills: Proficient in using Chemdraw ChemBioOffice SciFinder and Reaxys for literature search synthesis planning and optimization. Analysis and presentation of experimental data using Microsoft Office.
Monday through Thursday 9am2pm. 28 hours per week maximum.
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete daytoday work.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
