Job Description:
The Safety Lead will be responsible for overseeing all safety protocols within our semiconductor manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes PSM and the ability to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. They will work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all federal state and local regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Develop implement and oversee comprehensive safety programs and initiatives in accordance with OSHA standards and PSM requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and enhance emergency response plans and procedures including spill containment and hazardous waste management.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate safety protocols into manufacturing processes.
- Lead safety training sessions for employees ensuring all staff are uptodate on the latest safety practices and procedures.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims.
- Maintain TS/SCI security clearance and ensure all safety practices are in alignment with security protocols.
- Stay abreast of new legislation and advancements in technology and safety; implement changes in procedures as required.
- Develop implement and monitor environmental strategies policies and programs that promote sustainable development.
- Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and compliance.
- Oversee waste management programs including waste reduction recycling and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Engineering or related field.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and lead staff.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Environmental Manager or similar certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in environmental management systems and sustainability reporting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety or environmental management role within a chemicalheavy manufacturing environment preferably in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Proven experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and familiarity with OSHA regulations.
