Job Description

Position Summary:

The Alternate Administrator at Chemik Hospice Care LLC is responsible for assuming the duties and responsibilities of the Hospice Administrator during periods of absence incapacity or unavailability. This role ensures continuity of leadership regulatory compliance and operational functionality in alignment with federal and state hospice regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership Coverage

  • Serve as acting Administrator in the absence of the designated Administrator.
  • Maintain continuity of leadership and ensure compliance with all agency policies procedures and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure continued compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation 42 CFR 418 and statespecific licensing rules.
  • Maintain knowledge of agency licensure accreditation and Medicare certification standards.
  • Participate in audits surveys and internal reviews when needed.

Operational Support

  • Assist with oversight of daytoday operations including staff supervision patient care coordination and resource management.
  • Ensure staff performance and documentation meet agency expectations and regulatory requirements.

Personnel and IDG Support

  • Support human resource functions including staffing coordination and personnel files.
  • Attend or lead interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings to support plan of care discussions and quality patient care.
  • Maintain readiness to supervise clinical staff and coordinate patient services.

Business and Administrative Duties

  • Monitor agency functions such as billing referrals EMR use and vendor communications (e.g. pharmacy DME labs).
  • Act as a liaison to external stakeholders referral sources and community partners as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Health Care Business Administration Nursing or related field (Bachelors preferred).
  • Minimum of 12 years of administrative or supervisory experience in hospice home health or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with Medicare hospice rules including admission criteria patient care planning and CoPs.
  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently when required.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Current RN or LVN license (not required but a plus)
  • Knowledge of EMR platforms (e.g. WellSky Axxess)
  • Prior experience with hospice surveys or audits

Working Conditions:

  • Oncall availability or flexible scheduling may be required to cover Administrator absences.
  • Some travel to patient homes or facility settings may be necessary.
  • Office and remote administrative duties as assigned.
