Parkland School Division (PSD) is a large progressive school jurisdiction serving Spruce Grove Stony Plain Fort Chipewyan and Parkland County. PSD meets the diverse educational needs of over 12000 rural and urban students among 23 sites including outreach schools and alternative education programs.

We are currently seeking candidates for Division Principal Student Services. The successful candidate will be placed on term contracts for a designated period of time (typically 23 years) with a possibility of an extension 12 years). Following this term the successful candidate would then be reassigned to a school principalship.
As an instructional leader in our Division you will be part of our Lead Team contributing to the fulfillment of achieving the Divisions Ultimate Goal of Student Success & Wellbeing while carrying out Parkland School Divisions vision and mission.
Parkland School Division has two Division Principals of Student Services both of whom work under the guidance of the Associate Superintendent of Student Supports and Services. Each holds a similar portfolio and is assigned to a specific group of schools as the primary point of contact for all Student Services matters. This twoperson model allows for meaningful collaboration shared responsibility and consistent mentorship between the Division Principals while ensuring each school has a dedicated contact for timely and coordinated support.
Together these two Division Principals support the implementation of Student Services ensuring inclusive responsive programming from Early Education through Grade 12. Areas of oversight include:
inclusive education
the provision of specialized support services for students in Early Education through to Grade 12 such as therapy services (Occupational Therapy Speech Language Pathology) and medical behavioural and low incidence supports
the implementation of a Continuum of Supports and Services within each of our schools
specialized program placement
student health & wellness services (including food security and school counselling)
divisional family supports

This redesigned structure ensures continuity of leadership strengthens onboarding and crosstraining and promotes sustainability and workplace wellness within the department. The final duties may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experiences of the successful candidate.
Primary responsibilities:
Provide leadership to assigned schoolbased teams to support the continued development of inclusive and welcoming learning environments for all students
Collaborate with staff students families and school administrators to deliver quality programming responsive to diverse student needs
Lead a team including divisionbased and schoolbased staff to address Division priorities and achieve Division goals
Demonstrate creative visionary leadership that assists our school community to provide meaningful relevant educational opportunities
Work collaboratively with the second Division Principal of Student Services to ensure consistency build departmental capacity and coordinate divisionwide initiatives such as professional learning
Support the effective operation of the Student Services department by managing priorities overseeing departmental resources and ensuring the strategic alignment of staffing services and budgets with Division goals
Qualifications:
As the successful candidate you are a creative energetic and passionate leader with a Masters Degree in Education (or other related degree) valid Alberta teacher certification and Leadership Quality Standard (LQS) Certification (achieved in progress or willing to complete in the required timeline). You have previous administrative experience and a history of ongoing professional and personal development to support an instructional leadership role.

This position requires a current criminal record check and child intervention record check.
This position reports to the Superintendent of Schools. Your duties will commence on August 26 2025 with prior planning activities starting in midAugust 2025.
