We are inviting applications for the post of Research Associate/Fellow to have specific responsibility for research for developing research objectives and proposals for a National Institute for Health and Care Research funded project. The aim of this research is to use big UK electronic health record dataset Clinical Practice Research Datalink to investigate outcomes of osteoporosis and its treatment.
You will join an established team led by Professor Abhishek Abhishek and you will have a strong background in modelling and statistical analysis and have a willingness to learn and apply various techniques to big data for example cohort and nested case control studies. You will plan and conduct research using approaches or methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research. Youwill have proven skills in the presentation of research data and be able to collaborate with interdisciplinary academic colleagues at the University of Nottingham.
You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to identify areas for research develop research methods and extend your research portfolio. Academic Rheumatology has strong interests in crystal arthritis drug safety and prediction modelling providing ample scope for extending your research portfolio in these areas.
You must have a PhD (or near to completion) in a relevant subject area if either epidemiology biostatistics or rheumatology or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience in research area. Key skills required include excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others.
This role is available on a fixed term basis until the end March 2026 on a fulltime basis 36.25 hours per week) however applications are also welcome from those wishing to wok part time (minimum 29 hours per week). Job share arrangements may also be considered. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
