The Senior Manager Editorial and Social is a dynamic content leader responsible for developing and executing a detailed content strategy that enhances Metrolinxs brand and capital program. In this role you will be the chief storyteller ensuring that content is engaging onbrand and effectively reaches diverse audiences while supporting stakeholder engagement and public communication objectives.
You will manage a talented team of writers social media specialists and content producers leading the creation delivery and strategic distribution of compelling content across various digital channels. This includes owning the content calendar driving creative content initiatives and integrating best practices across communications all while working closely with senior management and crossfunctional teams to align with overall strategic vision.
The ideal candidate is not only a seasoned expert in digital media content strategy and public engagement but also excels in strategic decisionmaking datadriven analysis and team leadership. You will be accountable for ensuring compliance with digital regulations managing budgets and driving continuous improvement to elevate our content and social engagement efforts in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
What will I be doing
- Oversee content strategy supporting all communications channels and tells the Metrolinx story in a way that drives engagement and visibility.
- Provide clear leadership and development to a team of experienced writers social media specialists and content producers.
- Maintain knowledge of content and social engagement theories best practices approaches and emerging technologies and incorporates it into Metrolinxs digital engagement framework strategies tools and systems.
- Track key performance indicators and analytics to assess the effectiveness of content initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with communications marketing IT and other relevant departments to support coordinated digital campaigns.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports and insights to senior management.
- Serve as a liaison with internal stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Ensure that all content complies with AODA CASL and other relevant digital communication regulations.
- Recommend adjustments and process improvements based on performance analytics and team input.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a degree in Marketing Communications or related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Post graduate education in social and digital media is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated progressive experience leading digital social communications marketing and/or advertising functions including a minimum of three 3 years experience managing a team.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to maintain a consistent brand voice.
- A deep understanding of regulatory requirements such as AODA and CASL with practical experience in ensuring compliance in a digital context.
- Proven project management skills including the ability to coordinate crossfunctional teams and effectively manage a content calendar.
- Postgraduate education or equivalent professional experience in digital media communications or marketing.
- High adaptability and strong problemsolving skills to quickly address challenges in content .
