  • FullTime role available with hybrid working
  • Sydney based

How will I help

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Market Risk Team which oversees traded and nontraded market risk market risk policy and the modeling and reporting of market risk and counterparty credit risk. We are seeking a senior professional to join the Market Risk Reporting team. This role involves managing Value at Risk (VaR) stress testing structural risk reporting and ensuring compliance with traded market risk prudential standards.

The Market Risk team has high impact and visibility and you will be a key member of the team providing technical oversight capability. You will also play a central role in ensuring alignment to obligations under APS116 180 and Pillar 3 returns.

You will also:

  • Undertake analysis of reported results and process issues as instructed by the Executive Manager Reporting.
  • Contribute to innovation development and maintenance of market risk and related processes as part of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all relevant processes and procedures.
  • Ensure edequate controls are in place to maintain strong risk management controls.
  • Respond to adhoc queries from within the wider Market Risk team Group Risk and the business.
  • Ensure procedures are documented with particular focus on the User Designed Applications which form the backbone of the reporting tools.
  • Effective management of relevant JUNO issues
  • New Products review and implementation
  • Review reported results and followthrough with root cause analysis of any issues.
  • Review APS 116 180 and Pillar 3 returns.
  • Provide adhoc data to regulators as directed.
  • Review the banks Annual and Semi Annual traded market risk data and commentaries.
  • Stay abreast of trading book regulatory developments and issues.
  • Ensure adherenceto the traded market risk prudential standards calculation and reporting of regulatory capital (APS 116/180 and Pillar 3 reporting.

What do I need

  • At least 7 years experience in market risk environments
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of financial markets including products pricing models and market risk practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of prudential reporting requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in business and data analysis with exceptional attention to detail including data quality management and reconciliation processes
  • Skilled in the development and maintenance of system and process controls in financial market operations
  • Proficiency in a leading programming language (SQL/R/Python) with handson experience in developing packages for data analysis visualisation and statistical modelling
  • Graduate and postgraduate qualifications in relevant disciplines which may include professional certifications
  • Excellent analytical teamwork and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across technical and nontechnical stakeholders
