We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Histotechnician to join the Surgical Pathology team. In this role you will play a vital part in the diagnosis treatment and care of patients by accurately processing surgical pathology specimens. Responsibilities include performing cryotomy and frozen section staining kidney biopsy evaluations case accessioning tissue disposal specimen pickups and packaging equipment maintenance and record retention. The position may also include participating in autopsies and occasional travel between the Scottsdale and Phoenix campuses. Proficiency in using the Pathology Laboratory Information System and assisting with other assigned duties is essential.
To succeed in this role you must have strong attention to detail work efficiently in a highvolume environment and demonstrate flexibility adaptability and the ability to work independently while being a dependable team player. Excellent troubleshooting skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards are required. Additionally the position involves handling chemicals reagents and hazardous waste materials. Associate of Science degree from an accredited college/university in histology biology or having emphasized anatomical biological and chemical science; or meet CLIA88 regulations 42CFR493.1487 through 1491 for high complexity testing and one 1 year histology experience; or successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histology Program. Two years as certified HT (ASCP) preferred.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent communication organizational and problem solving skills.Demonstrated good judgment when dealing with a variety of procedural and technical issues.
