A Day in the Life and the Impact Youll Make:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at DPS (Digital and Product Solutions) under the Functional Safety Business Unit. This area is focused on innovating safety and security by creating intelligent testing solutions and providing Safety related serviced that contribute to making the digitalized and connected world a safer place.
What Youll Do:
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team to achieve project milestones and exceed customer expectations.
- Plan and coordinate functional safety assessment and testing activities.
- Perform complex functional safety assessments and testing following standards such as ISO 26262 IEC 61508 or other relevant standards.
- Optimize testing processes for efficiency quality and resource utilization.
- Oversee the creation of detailed evaluation reports aligned with client milestones and applicable standards.
- Act as the main contact for clients quality and certification bodies regarding safety testing and assessments.
- Deliver and conduct internal and external workshops and training in the field of Functional Safety and Security.
- Coordinate technical efforts between Functional Safety Cybersecurity and AI domains.
- Support the sales team with product/project inputs (e.g. technical and quote estimates)
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in functional safety and ensure the company aligns with industry best practices.
What Youll Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Software Engineering or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of handson experience in system/software/hardware design and development.
- Minimum 5 years of functional safety implementation in automotive ECU development.
- Deep knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262 IEC 61508 or equivalents).
- Able to guide our team through the ISO certification process and achieve the certification completion on time.
- Experience with risk analysis FMEDA FTA and other safety assessment methods.
- Handson experience with testing tools automation frameworks and hardwareintheloop (HIL) systems.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN LIN FlexRay Ethernet etc..
- Knowledge of Linuxbased OS and indepth knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Bash. C/C is a plus.
- ASPICE knowledge or ASPICE provisional assessor status preferred.
- Professional functional safety engineer certification (e.g. ISO 26262 IEC 61508 preferred.
- International working experience with global customers preferred.
- Understanding of embedded systems and software development lifecycles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Leadership and experience with managing teams.
- Project and task coordination skills.
- Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to speak German is a plus

Compensation:
DEKRA North Americas compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85500 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $128200 annually in our highest geographic market. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and positionrelated knowledge skills and experience.
