VOAC recognizes the unique needs of the older adult who needs a wheelchair ramp to stay at home safely and the preschooler whose family needs additional resources. VOAC supports veterans efforts to exit homelessness as well as provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence. Wherever VOAC goes it combines relationshipbuilding volunteers and quality services to lift and support our neighbors efforts to become selfsufficient and reach their full potential.
**Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement the Grants Writer is primarily responsible for developing and implementing grant seeking strategies that increase government grants revenue and ensure efficient and effective grantfunded programming across the organization. Essential functions include proactively coordinating grants opportunities with program leaders by researching funding opportunities writing proposals managing a portfolio of grant funders ensuring compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares annual grant applications and grant reports including compiling and analyzing program impact data
Research government programs for new grant opportunities
Directly manages and oversees annual government grants pipeline development and sets funding targets utilizing donor and funder database
Measure and track grant outcomes to quantify the grant success and to inform reporting and grant impact.
Responsibility for $1M in annual grants funding with expectation to lead in building and growing a pipeline for longterm sustainability
Assists with program development and evaluation to maximize funding
Partners with program managers in major donor proposal development and cases for support
Performs all other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications of Position
Bachelors Degree in related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in grant writing and reporting or administration
Demonstrated track record of successful fiveand sixfigure grant proposals
Experience with effective grant seeking tasks funder cultivation and relationship management program development proposal development grant management and reporting and funder stewardship
Own transportation with valid drivers license and statemandated insurance
Preferred Qualifications of Position
Experience and comfort with program evaluation standards and stewardship reports
Previous successful government grant seeking for human services related field
Previous creative or technical writing experience
Knowledge and Skills
Intermediate to advanced understanding of donor management software or CRM systems
Experience in data management software including Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
Presentation and public speaking skills
