Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a professional social work service in line with statutory responsibilities and organizational policies.
  • Contribute to service delivery that is strengthsbased and outcomefocused.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to address complex needs and achieve ideal outcomes for individuals and their carers.
  • Provide highquality assessments and support plans in consultation with individuals and their carers.
  • Complete written reports and present information effectively.
  • Work with health colleagues to ensure safe and timely discharges from hospital.
  • Promote the creative and flexible use of personal budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with people carers other agencies and professionals.
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records using electronic systems.
  • Support and mentor newly qualified or less experienced staff and students.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and mandatory training.
  • Maintain emotional resilience and professional wellbeing.
  • Participate in a duty system and respond to urgent situations as necessary.

Experience:

  • Accepting referrals and gathering information
  • Assessing the needs of individuals and their families
  • Managing a caseload and determining priorities
  • Working as a member of a team
  • Experience in a Social Services Directorate or other statutory or voluntary agency
  • Experience with a range of client groups within an agency

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of legislation related to social work practice
  • Experience in assessing and analysing need and risk
  • Effective collaboration with other agencies and professionals
  • IT literacy and experience with recordkeeping systems
  • Negotiation and networking skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Ability to value diversity and work across cultures
  • Ability to mentor less experienced staff
  • Ability to influence others based on expertise

Social Work applicants must be registered with Social Work England (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with SWE

The post you are applying for is covered by theRehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013.
