Job Description

Since we opened our doors in 2009 the world of commerce has evolved immensely and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale we saw sellers stymied by disparate outmoded products and tools that wouldnt work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated omnichannel solutions to help sellers sell online manage inventory offer buy now pay later functionality book appointments engage loyal buyers and hire and pay staff. Across it all weve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper increase order sizes and compete at a larger scale.

Today we are a partner to sellers of all sizes large enterprisescale businesses with complex operations sellers just starting as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. Were building a significant meaningful and lasting business and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

The Role

We are looking for a Sales Manager to lead our growing team of Account Executives and increase revenue against individual team and overall Sales goals. You will be a brand ambassador for Square UK and help find opportunities for Square to help UK businesses grow. Your entrepreneurship will be a valuable contribution to developing our strategy growing our SMB and MidMarket sales team and establishing a culture of crisp .

As a people manager with sales experience (specifically new business) you will build a successful Sales team that generates success for our sellers and Square. Youll use insights and deep Square product knowledge to educate and support sellers understanding how our ecosystem of products can fit different types of businesses. You will work with Square sellers of all sizes and will report to the Head of Sales UK.

You will:

  • Create a team culture of trust accountability success and fun where people are encouraged to share information constructively debate and communicate freely
  • Support direct reports by participating in client and prospect meetings
  • Mentor and develop a team of senior salespeople which includes hiring and training new account executives on sales process
  • Refine the outbound sales strategy process and tactics to improve performance
  • Use sales metrics to manage the team and individual AEs tracking the results and succinctly reporting to senior management
  • Conduct weekly pipeline review and forecast meetings with AEs
  • Coach direct reports regarding strategies to drive revenue and customer success
  • Use the customer voice to drive improvements in interactions and product
  • Envision new and innovative ideas and approaches and take them to fruition

Qualifications

You have:

  • 6 years of sales experience with documented sales success and a proven track record above 100 as an individual contributor in the UK/EMEA
  • 2 years of experience in people management
  • Solid knowledge and experience in successful outbound tools and sales processes
  • Expertise in creating rigor around sales metrics and managing yourself or others to achieve metrics
  • Demonstrated success mentoring coaching and onboarding salespeople
  • Strong crossfunctional partnership skills across global teams and departments
  • The ability to rapidly hire and train new account executives
  • The ability to streamline decisionmaking and consider the downstream and upstream effects of potential decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal leadership organizational communication and listening skills
  • BA/BS degree required
