AESC isheadquartered in Japan and has battery manufacturing locations in Japan UK andthe U.S. We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Manufacturing Technicianrole to support our Florence South Carolina plant.

Job Summary

Tool and Die Technicians are responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on complex state of the art highvolume automated manufacturing production die assemblies.

Job Functions

• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
• Fit and assemble parts to make repair or modify Dies Jigs Gages and Tools using Machine Tools and Hand Tools.
• Measure mark and scribe metal or plastic stock to lay out machining using instruments such as protractors micrometers scribes and rulers.
• Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
• Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes milling machines and grinders to cut bore grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
• Verify dimensions alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers gauge blocks micrometers and dial indicators.
• Demonstrate willingness to accept direction from management and peers to improve quality performance and productivity.
• Work effectively as a team player with peers and other departments to improve quality performance and productivity.
• Follow all safety programs and policies.
• Keep work area safe clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize sustain sort set in order and shine)

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are minimum requirements for the job. • High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology Mechatronics or related program preferred.
• 35 years of industrial tooling experience OR 02 years of experience and a twoyear technical degree industrial maintenance certification (or equivalent).
• Experience as a Machinist Toolmaker or Tool and Die Maker highly desired.
• The Tool & Die Tech must be able to understand and work with blueprints.
• Must be able to operate various Machine Tools for metal cutting and machining operations.
• Possess skills in math (geometry trigonometry) writing reading and strong communication skills.
• Possess an understanding of stamping operations metal forming metal drawing and metal finishing operations.
• Must be familiar with all levels of Machine Tools automated and otherwise.
• Ability and willingness to be cross trained into other positions in Tool & Die Shop.
• Strong organization skills
• Must be familiar with OSHA and be able to apply these standards to the workplace.
• Must be adept at troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Assist with developing new innovative methods of repairing tooling.
• Experience at welding standard and exotic grades of tool steel.

Other required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Strong computer skills (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint); Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.
• Ability to correctly repair or modify dies in the tool room or at the press.
• Ability to communicate with and work with subordinates and peers in an acceptable manner.
• Performs job tasks in a safe manner and enforces proper PPE
• Ability to maintain dies to department standards.
• Must comply with plant rules and policies.
• Ability to work consistently without constant management.
• Ability to troubleshoot dies and develop action plans.
