About the Role
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for supervision of the completion of projects as well as testing commissioning and startup when systems are installed and tested. In addition the technician will inspect the correct functioning of the equipment facilities and plants and when necessary they perform repairs and maintenance. This role will also be responsible for reviewing the procedures to inspect a product or system to ensure that it is according to specifications and requirements. This role may have up to 50 travel the right candidate will be flexible to traveling on a routine basis.
- Ability to travel and work according to a changing schedule.
- Perform setup calibration testing and troubleshooting of circuits components instruments and mechanical assemblies.
- Provide support in ensuring project completion and ready for Inspection.
- Provide support with FATs for the final project prior to shipment.
- Construct and repair if necessary equipment using hand tools machine tools and measuring instruments.
- Take measures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ability to check system parameters against reference values which will be provided by engineering.
- Ensure assembled products conform to given specifications.
- Read and comprehend standard PID PFD electrical schematics
- Use measurement instruments such as multimeters Hart Communicators
- Troubleshoot to identify operating problems solution and report accordingly.
- Responding to customer callouts and field dispatches; meeting with the customer to determine the nature of the service or repair.
- Conducting routine equipment servicing out in the field.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment failures repairing repairing equipment and replacing faulty parts.
- Install and test new equipment.
- Providing preventive equipment maintenance.
- Providing technical training on new equipment installations.
- Completing job reports
- Provide support in the warehouse
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 6 years of field service work required
- 3 years of experience in electrical systems preferred
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation and PLC; and DC and AC voltage
- Basic knowledge of operation of rotating equipment.
- Previous experience working in an engineering environment preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
