Job Description

Seattle Childrens is looking for an experienced creative and dynamic social media manager to lead content strategy and across Seattle Childrens channels. As an integral part of our effort to further establish Seattle Childrens as a destination for worldclass pediatric care and innovative research this is a highimpact role an opportunity to do meaningful work and help support and mentor the team.

Youll be a part of the Public Engagement team which leads public relations crisis and issues management and social media for the organization. This role will be responsible for developing and planning content and helping develop campaigns across Seattle Childrens socials. Together with the social media team youll help develop a robust social content strategy and collaborate with MarComm colleagues and stakeholders across the system to identify opportunities to engage our audiences in a meaningful way. Were looking for a creative thinker with a bias for action who has excellent communication skills and is also exceptionally organized. Youll work closely with the Sr. Director of Public Engagement on strategy support and mentor social media team colleagues and work to build relationships with workforce members across the organization.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to developing communication for external audiences and channels and demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the systems priorities. This position provides mentorship and training to teammates and partners with department management on systemwide strategic program planning initiatives that align with the priorities of Seattle Childrens hospital research institute and foundation. This work involves initiating developing coordinating implementing and/or evaluating communication plans related to these projects and initiatives. Other responsibilities include: providing social media consultation and support to leaders communications staff clients and work teams for projects and initiatives that span multiple audiences and vehicles; advanced project management skills are required. In addition responsibilities may include content development for a variety of channels including presentations key messages etc.; developing and producing content for Seattle Childrens social media channels; project management; and communication support during crisis situations. While this role mentors and trains teammates it does not include direct supervision of team members. Roles in the following teams rotate and help coordinate 24/7 oncall responsibilities with their teammates: Internal communications; Patient and Family Education and Communications; Public Engagement; and Research MarComm. Communication managers who are part of other teams may have infrequent oncall responsibilities as needed.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in in communications marketing journalism public relations or closely related fieldA minimum of seven years experience in a social media or communications role

Experience working as a communications/social media professional in a healthcare setting.Experience managing complex multifaceted communication plans involving multiple stakeholders and audiences.Advanced experience with project management at multiple levels of an organization.Experience with crisis/reactive communication including response and support.Experience writing for social media channelsExperience with Associated Press style and adherence to editorial and graphic standards.Experience with photography and/or image editing software (e.g. PhotoShop).Experience with web content management systems/HTML.Experience providing communications consultation and support to senior leaders.Experience writing for multiple audience types and health literacy levels.Experience analyzing and using data to make decisions.5 years issues and crisis management.Health care experience.

Compensation Range

$95270.00 $142904.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on fulltime employment 2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
