Job Description
A sonographer uses ultrasound highfrequency sound waves to take images of the bodys internal organs and tissues to assist doctors with diagnosing and monitoring a variety of conditions and diseases. A sonographer is also known as a diagnostic medical sonographer or an ultrasound technician.
Must be able to perform various Vascular/Echo and Diagnostic Ultrasound duties from validating medical necessity entering orders acquiring Vascular/Echo and Diagnostic images recognizing abnormal pathology communicating critical test results to ordering physician completing worksheet and exporting images for interpreting physician completing dictated or electronic reports for ordering and interpreting physicians cleaning equipment and treatment room for next patient keep registry current by completing continuing education requirements submitting dues annually and submitting CME certificates to manager for education file. The Vascular/Echo and Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures provides patient care essential to cardiovascular procedures recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees other departments and the Medical Staff.

Education:
ARRT and ARDMS or CCI Registry or completion of accredited Vascular/Echo and Diagnostic Ultrasound program.
Experience:
Prior experience as a Vascular/Echo and Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist in a clinical setting is strongly desired.
Licenses / Certificates:
ARRT and EchoRDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) VascularRVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI)
BLS Certification is required.
