Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Public HealthBloomington (SPHB) invites applications for a tenuretrack/tenured faculty position in the Department of Kinesiology. This is an openrank search and applicants at all levels (assistant associate or full professors) are welcome. The successful candidate will contribute to a) the Exercise Science Program within the Department of Kinesiology and b) the newly launched Nutrition and Exercise Research Center NERC at the SPH B level which is a collaboration between the Nutrition and Exercise Science Programs. The SPH B seeks individuals passionate about our mission to promote health for all members of society through excellence in research impactful teaching and mentoring and service to the university profession and the community. This 10month appointment would ideally start August 1 2025 although an earlier or later start date is negotiable. Applications received by November 15 2024 will receive full priority consideration and applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Continuing the momentum of hiring over 60 outstanding tenuretrack/tenured faculty over the last three years the SPH B is launching another wave of faculty recruitment. The Department of Kinesiology recently celebrated its 75th Anniversary and has consistently been highly ranked by the National Academy of Kinesiology. The Kinesiology faculty is a talented productive and collegial team united by a shared interest in creating and translating knowledge in human movement science and practice and sport management. Our exercise science faculty conduct research within the areas of exercise physiology (basic and applied/clinical) neuromotor control and biomechanics athletic training and physical activity behavior. With Kinesiology being one of the largest departments at Indiana University Bloomington our faculty educate mentor and serve almost 2500 students enrolled in our BS MS and PhD degree programs. The Department of Kinesiology maintains strong connections to other departments in the SPH B and other schools across Indiana University.
