Job Description

Position Summary
The Tutor works under the direct supervision of the Subject Area Supervisor. The position is responsible for providing APSU students with the instruction and support necessary for developing effective learning habits and achieving educational goals. Tutors work in the Academic Support Center as either peer tutors or writing lab tutors. FOAP :

Essential Functions
Ability to communicate effectively with faculty staff students and guests of the University. Ability to assess individual learning styles and promote appropriate learning strategies. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to maintain an educational environment which encourages learning. Ability to maintain confidentiality about all aspects of the Academic Support Center. Ability to make decisions and work independently. Ability to exhibit good customer service skills. Ability to ensure policies and procedures are followed in all decisions. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations the University community and the public. Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
