Position Summary
The LSU Health Sciences Center Department of Medicine Section of Pulmonary/Critical Care seeks a collaborative and evidencebased pulmonary /critical care clinician to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (nontenure clinical track). The Candidates will focus their clinical effort on growing the Lung Cancer Screening Program at University Medical Center New Orleans UMCNO . As such the selected candidate will be expected to staff the newly formed lung nodule outpatient clinic for two half days a week. The candidate should be proficient in bronchoscopy to include EBUS and navigational (Ion platform) biopsy procedures. Dedicated endoscopy time will be provided as needed to support the faculty members procedural practice as it grows. The selected candidate will lead a multidisciplinary lung nodule conference every other week. The faculty member will also teach students residents and fellows on inpatient rotations (medical ICU and pulmonary consults) at University Medical Center New Orleans. The Section currently consists of 14 faculty members and has an ACGME accredited training program for 14 pulmonary and critical care fellows.
