Job Description
Position Summary: The Athletic Training faculty member/clinical education coordinator is appointed by and reports to the Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Rehabilitative Sciences and works in conjunction with the director of the Athletic Training Program in the Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences at the University of Tulsa. The position requires an experienced athletic trainer who has teaching experience in athletic training as well as experience in a CAATE accredited professional athletic training program. This individual should possess a doctoral degree in a field relating to athletic training. This position begins on August 15 2025 and is a 9-month clinical track appointment with additional summer contract. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience related to the position. Functions and responsibilities: In addition to responsibilities of an athletic training faculty member the clinical education coordinator will: Serve as a preceptor in the athletic training program. Assist the curriculum director with collection of required student clinical proficiencies and evaluations. Work with the curriculum director to continually improve clinical education. Promote professional development and interaction opportunities in athletic training for athletic training students. Provide oversight of off-campus clinical sites: Visit off-campus clinical sites twice per year for student observation and conference with clinical personnel. Assist in the recruitment of students for the athletic training program. Appraise the curriculum director of deficiencies involving students in the clinical setting. Schedule speakers for monthly clinical experience lectures. Serve as liaison to library for the athletic training program. Assist the curriculum director with preparation of accreditation documents. Investigate external funding opportunities to benefit the athletic training program in the way of scholarship money equipment etc. Application Information: Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Physical Demands
Standing and walking : Frequent standing and walking are required especially during clinical education and training sessions. Lifting and carrying : Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies which may be necessary for teaching and clinical duties. Manual dexterity : Proficiency in handling and operating athletic training equipment. Visual acuity : Good vision is essential for observing and assessing students clinical skills and patient conditions. Communication : Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for teaching coordinating clinical education and interacting with students and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
Completed doctoral degree or degree in progress from an accredited university in an area relating to athletic training Current BOC Inc. certification as an athletic trainer with 3-5 years of experience as an athletic trainer Licensure or eligible for licensure as an athletic trainer in the state of Oklahoma Experience teaching athletic training content in classroom and clinical settings Experience working in a CAATE professional level accredited athletic training program Demonstrated scholarly activities

Experience with program review assessment and accreditation Previous leadership experience in an athletic training program
