Job Description
Job Title:Construction CAD Designer/Drafter
Company: Janotta & Herner
Reports to: Director of Design
FLSA: Hourly
Position Summary:
Construction CAD Designer/Drafterwill collaborate with J&H Project Managers Engineers Consultants Superintendents and Clients as assigned by the Design Department Director. Will be responsible to plan coordinate and create complete construction drawings for assigned projects.
Essential Functions:
- Meet with the project team to develop & fully understand the design requirements of the project.
- Analyze and identify project risks.
- Gather and assemble the necessary measurements dimensions or other information required to complete the drawings.
- Provide the team with practical design recommendations based on the project requirements budget site and recent trends.
- Proficiently use CAD and/or Revit to produce construction grade drawing sets.
- Prepare preliminary design drawings for work acquisition and bidding.
- Prepare drawings specifications and construction documents.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree or certification program in architectural drafting or similar.
- 510 years of experience is preferred.
- Proficient in computeraided design (CAD) software.
- General knowledge of building design specifications codes and structural analysis.
- Ability to apply the fundamentals of sketching and design.
- Mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Great analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
This role involves working in an office environment generally during the hours of 7:00am4:30pm. Additional overtime may be required to meet project goals or deadlines. Occasionally flexibility in working hours will be needed based on events and business needs.
