    Title: Director of Technology

    Qualifications:
    • Valid drivers license
    • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or areas related to job functions
    • Previous leadership experience in the area of technology education or areas related to job functions
    • Three or more years of experience directly supervising or guiding the work of personnel in areas directly related to job functions
    • Experience with developing and maintaining a departmental budget
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to lead and work harmoniously with others

    Preferred
    1. Masters Degree in information technology instructional technology computer science education administration and/or other areas related to job functions
    2. Five or more years of experience in leadership in the areas of information technology instructional technology security computer science and/or education administration
    3. Demonstrated experience with providing leadership and vision for the design and implementation of administrative and instructional technology as well as infrastructure
    4. Knowledge of federal state and local education requirements including technology standards.
    5. Experience with developing and maintaining a long range plan for technology services including equipment and infrastructure maintenance upgrades and replacement

    Reports to: Director of Curriculum and Instruction

    Job Goal:
    Lead the planning development implementation and management of the districts instructional and information technology programs. This includes:
    • Enhancing staff productivity and student learning through effective use of technology.
    • Managing data systems to meet reporting requirements efficiently.
    • Coordinating the purchase installation repair and use of electronic equipment software computers and related devices.
    • Developing and overseeing the districts technology budget to ensure optimal use of resources.
    • Taking a lead role in creating and implementing a comprehensive districtwide technology plan.

    Performance Responsibilities:

    Leadership and Strategic Planning
    • Serves as a contributing member of the District Leadership Team and other assigned committees.
    • Develop and implement a longterm technology plan that aligns with the districts educational goals and objectives.
    • Chair the Technology Committee facilitating the implementation and annual review of the district technology plan.
    • Communicate upcoming technology changes initiatives and their impact to all stakeholders including administrators teachers staff students and parents.
    • Takes a lead role in creating and implementing a comprehensive districtwide technology plan.
    • Assists in hiring and evaluation of assigned staff in accordance with board policies and administrative guidelines.
    • Ensures compliance with federal state and local law and district policy.
    • Evaluates current trends and emerging technologies.
    • Attend school board meetings to present information and recommendations as needed.
    Budget & Finances
    • Develop and manage the technology budget to support the districts technology needs including evaluation and acquisition of new tools and resources.
    • Prepare grant proposals and seek alternative funding sources to enhance technology initiatives.
    • Coordinate the technology aspects of district construction and facilities projects.
    • Develop and implement short and longterm plans for technology purchases based on identified needs.
    Infrastructure and Technology Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance upgrading and security of hardware software and network systems to ensure reliable and secure operations.
    • Manage and support the districts technology systems databases and inventory including equipment warranties and software licenses.
    • Coordinate and assist with the installation of technology systems and maintain vendor relations.
    • Evaluate and recommend technologyrelated purchases to ensure they align with district goals.
    • Establish and maintain responsive channels for addressing technology needs feedback and requests promptly and professionally.
    Instructional and Professional Support:
    • Ensure that teachers and students have access to technologybased instructional materials that enhance learning experiences.
    • Collaborate with the District Technology Coordinator to support the effective integration of technology in classrooms.
    • Develop clear and accessible communications regarding technology updates and troubleshooting resources.
    • Work closely with the Teaching and Learning Team to plan and provide professional development focused on classroom technology tools and best practices.
    Data and Reporting:
    • Manage data systems to ensure compliance with FERPA COPPA and CIPA regulations maintaining the privacy and security of student information.
    • Facilitate the collection analysis and reporting of technologyrelated data to support informed decisionmaking and meet state and federal reporting requirements efficiently.
    • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and best practices.
    • Provide training and resources for staff on data privacy security protocols and compliance standards.
    Other Duties:
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective implementation and management of the districts technology initiatives.

    Terms of Employment:
    • Twelve month employment.
    • Nine paid holidays
    • Salary as determined by the Board of Education.


    Evaluation: This position is evaluated by the Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
