If you look at my LinkedIn youll notice Ive hopped around at the same company. This was because I asked my manager to help me figure out what I liked and what I was good at. After 3 years of that Ive found myself at an interesting spot.
When I say interesting I mean Im f******
See I learned I love tackling things no one on the team has cracked yet. I vaguely knew leading the Account Retention initiative (yes also something no one had built yet) would be challenging when I signed up for it. My manager warned me not to romanticize it.
But I did and here I am. Sue me.
To be fair I dont hate the job. I still love the challenge. In the past year Ive learned so much and Im genuinely excited to keep figuring it out. But yeahits hard. Ive had more moments than I can count.
Over time though Ive learned that its not about immediate wins. Its about showing up giving it a fair shot and making what feels like microscopic progress but progress nonetheless.
