What You Will Do:

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHatEnterprise/Microsoft Windows and environment.

  • Lead and coordinate the Red Hat Installation and configuration.

  • Participate in all phases of Engineering software installation and support with emphasis on testing documentation and acceptance phases.

  • Collaborate with teams and mentor junior Linux admins.

  • Apply understandingand knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS DHCP AD and server replication methods.

  • Work as a team member in afastpacedtechnologicalenvironment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

  • Participate and lead technical meetings with team members and program personnel representing the organization in functional area matters.

  • Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

  • Responsible for provisioning installation/configuration operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Linux/Windows infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include but are not limited to server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support

  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours

  • Full time 100 Onsite position

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience with some of but not limited to the following technologies: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Active Directory WSUS VMware BackupExec NetBackup prior systems administration experience Windows or Linux administration Backup and Recovery enterprise suites

  • Must have experience in mentoring others or lead experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD T/S clearance or the ability to obtain one

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification.

  • Direct working experience with NISPOM JAFAN JSIG DFARS and/or DoD/RMF

  • Indepth working experience in RedHat Enterprise Linux

  • Experience with data storage NAS and SAN technologies and solutions

  • Experience supporting engineers in software simulations and hardware development

  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS SCCM and/or Exchange

  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment

  • Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and ability to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems

  • Experience using VMWare vCenter vSphere Linux Desktops Windows desktops (Windows 10 11 Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods

  • Scripting/ automation PowerShell Bash

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
