- The Department of Corrections Division of Institutions is recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist Electrician Journey 2/Lead position for the Palmer Correctional Center (PCC) located in Palmer Alaska.Watch Alaska DOCs video here:
What You Will Be Doing:
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Foreman install repair monitor and maintain electrical systems at Palmer Correctional Center. Performs installation maintenance and repairs on the entire facility electrical system from the main switchboard through all distribution equipment and panels and to all connected equipment and devices while using proper safety procedures such as log out/tag out methods etc. Inspects tests and repairs emergency power transfer switching equipment and is able to perform advanced diagnostics on the PLC and its I/O devices. Inspects tests and repairs uninterruptible power systems. Perform advanced diagnostics on systems PLCs and its batteries and switching devices.

Who We Are Looking For:
- Electrical: Knowledge of electrical equipment components instruments and systems including their design installation testing uses repair or maintenance.

PREA NOTIFICATION

Please be aware this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
