Job Description
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Schedule:Full time 8hour shifts

Essential Duties:
- Plan work schedules to meet all production requirements.
- Provide staff training evaluate staff performance recommend and implement department and personnel changes as approved by the assistant warden operations and coordinated with the human resources supervisor prior to implementation.
- Create time reports and records of all staff and offenders assigned to the laundry.
- Supervise operation of laundry equipment; perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Perform tests on wash formulas.
- May perform various laundry duties which requires lifting bending squatting and long periods of standing. Push and pull laundry carts. Perform security functions including pat and strip searches by squatting and bending to perform such functions.
- Train and supervise an offender workforce in the laundry/necessities operation and conduct safety training for offender workers and laundry services employees to include Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Supervise the receipt storage repair and issue of offender necessities; implement inventory control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
- Three 3 years fulltime wage earning correctional commercial or institutional laundry experience.
- Thirty 30 semester hours from a college or university accredited by the Council for Higher Education (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or equivalent technical or trade school courses in the field of culinary hotel or restaurant management may be substituted for one 1 year of the required experience on a yearforyear basisforamaximumsubstitutionoftwo(2)years.
- Two(2)yearsfulltimewageearningcorrectionalcustodyorlaw enforcement experience.
- A valid drivers license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record unless waived by management.
- Must successfully complete and pass annual background check and inservice training requirements both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
