Job Description

Vertex is looking for an enthusiastic and detailoriented Procurement Administrator to join our team in Sherwood Park AB. This isnt your typical administrative roleexpect a mix of desk work and handson tasks. Youll assist with acquiring materials equipment and services while also being involved in organizing inventory stocking shelves handling shipping and receiving and meeting with vendors. If you enjoy variety in your day and are eager to get involved in different aspects of procurement this is the role for you!

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role (internship experience works too!
  • Business Administration Finance or Supply Chain Management education is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Enjoys building relationships meeting new people and solving problems with a positive attitude
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the role
  • Able to manage time well and stay organized while balancing multiple tasks
  • Comfortable lifting and organizing supplies 510 lbs)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong team player who works well in a collaborative environment
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks effectively
  • A valid Class 5 Drivers License

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with vendor approvals and purchasing of materials equipment and services
  • Organize and manage inventory assist with shipping/receiving and ensure supplies are stocked
  • Process purchasing paperwork and help create and review purchase orders
  • Review and prepare requests for quotations (RFQs) and assist with pricing evaluation
  • Interact with vendors during visits to the facility and maintain positive relationships
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and assist with reporting related to purchasing and inventory management
  • Troubleshoot procurementrelated issues and escalate as needed
  • Assist in identifying new supply sources and costsaving opportunities

Location:

This role is based in Sherwood Park AB and will involve some local travel.
