Job Description
New Hope Group (NHG) is a proudly Australian owned and operated diversified energy company based in Southeast Queensland for more than 60 years. While our core focus is on coal we also have interests in agriculture oil and port operations.
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team based in Brisbane on a 6month max term contract and will assist the team with preparation of month end journals balance sheets and general financial team assistance across the group.
What you will do:
- Maintenance of fixed asset register including additions and disposals
- Preparation of month end journals
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with the coordination of statutory reporting process including external audit
- Assistance with yearend financial report preparation
- ABS Reporting
- Ad hoc assistance to Finance team as needed
What you will bring:
- Tertiary Qualification in Accounting Finance or related discipline
- 23 years experience in an accounting role commercial role or similar
- Studying towards CPA/CA or qualified
- High level attention to detail
- Strong Excel Skills PowerBi experience desirable
- Welldeveloped communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
