The Role

This is a rare opportunity to join an established wellfunded and proven renewable energy and storage investment company in a high profile high impact role. As the Head of Portfolio Management you will oversee a portfolio of assets owned by Low Carbon in construction and through their operational life. The primary responsibilities of the Head of Portfolio Management is set out below:

Financial Close:

  • Act on the buyside of transactions reaching financial close
  • Specify and oversee due diligence focusing on technical aspects
  • Participate in latestage discussions on PPA EPC and financing
  • Negotiate agreements for Low Carbon
  • Manage and track optimisations and upsides identified through due diligence

Construction:

  • Oversee workstreams and stakeholders during the construction phase
  • Ensure successful construction delivery through to PAC
  • Lead commercial decisionmaking and risk mitigation across contracts
  • Establish key relationships with project counterparties
  • Oversee project HSE matters
  • Act as director of each Project SPV

Operations:

  • Manage a portfolio of investments as the nominated SPV director
  • Ensure good governance and compliance with regulations and policies
  • Lead value preservation and enhancement efforts
  • Drive commercial and financial optimisation to maximise asset performance
  • Source new revenue streams
  • Manage O&M contracts and operational contract strategy

Portfolio Reporting:

  • Prepare the portfolio annual business plan
  • Prepare Board papers shareholder materials and fundraising documents

Portfolio Initiatives:

  • Identify and manage value enhancements on investments and portfolio structure
  • Optimise power price management and portfolio risk exposure
  • Explore technical enhancements and investment opportunities
  • Work with the Head of Power Management on portfolio optimisation and risk management

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in constructing and operating renewable energy assets
  • Understanding and participation in project development activity for new renewable energy assets
  • Significant track record in the delivery of Best in Class operations and value enhancement initiatives
  • Confidence to represent investor interests at Project Board level with the ability and willingness to take management responsibility and to take a lead where necessary in negotiations with stakeholders
  • Experience of acquiring financing and disposing of infrastructure assets
  • Working understanding of investment accounting valuations tax and managing transactions
  • Sound understanding of regulation and operation of energy and balancing markets
  • A welldeveloped network in the renewables sector
  • Able to attend remote Low Carbon sites (driving required)
