Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated and technically savvy Network Development Engineer to help operate develop and scale one of the worlds largest and most complex networks.
Come join the InfraComms team within Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Network Development Engineer (NDE).
The InfraComms team within Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for managing the communication coordination and operations related to external networks and carriers.
The team maintains balanced partnerships with key industry stakeholders leveraging their technical expertise to enhance the interconnectivity and availability of AWSs global network infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of technical leadership and success in driving complex network related issues to resolution autonomously and/or collaboratively.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an indepth knowledge of networking networking concepts and theory. They will have experience proactively managing engineering projects network optimization initiatives and operational network support for a largescale service provider.
As a technical leader you will manage complex stakeholder operational issues relationships and develop innovative mechanisms and solutions to enhance the interconnectivity and availability of AWSs global network infrastructure.

A day in the life
As an NDE in the InfraComms team you will be responsible for:
Handling both reactive and proactive operational issues related to AWSs external network services such as PNI Public Peering Transit Embedd Caches and Backbone.
Engaging in advanced triaging for critical services and maintaining ownership of troubleshooting and communication.
You will also enhance and develop mechanism to further improve AWS network processes for a better availability and connectivity.
About the team
The InfraComms team is composed of experts in the internet ecosystem with comprehensive knowledge of interconnectivity layers.
The team operates on a 24x5 schedule across EU/NA/AP regions ensuring a superior experience for AWS internal and external customers.
You will be working alongside a diverse group of Network Development Engineers from the AMER APAC and EMEA regions.
By joining the InfraComms team you will play a crucial role in enhancing AWSs network operations and business development strategies directly contributing to the improvement of internet infrastructure and the customer experience.
Bachelors degree from in Computer Science or related area.
Experience in automation via Bash/Shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
Experience of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
Experience with major routing protocols specifically BGP.
Experience of optical transport (passive and active Layer 1/WDM) operations and networks.
Ability to work on a diverse team with a diverse range of coworkers.
Masters degree from in Computer Science or related area
Experience in designing and operating largescale production networks.
Advanced experience in routing protocols and L3 networking operation and implementation.
Advanced experience of optical transport (passive and active Layer 1/WDM) networking operation and implementation.
Advanced experience in automation via Bash/Shell scripting and Perl/Python or other relevant programming language.
