The Chief of Human Resources will plan direct and oversee all activities and personnel of the Human Resources Division.
Key responsibilities include:
Defines goals & objectives as related to human resources (i.e. HR) & personnel (e.g. recruitment classification/compensation performance payroll benefits training/development selection collective bargaining EEO employee relations)
Formulates & sets agency HR policy
Coordinates AGO efforts and communication with bargaining units on contract matters personnel issues and other issues as assigned.
Serves as a lead resource on all personnel matters and helps to enforce federal state and local work requirements as well as AGO policies.
Directs development of plans for all HR functions including the development of the HR budget
Directs development of agency organizational structure & staffing patterns.
Implements HR programs through complex decision processes involving
extensive research coordination & cooperation within department & with other departments.
Meets with agency staff (e.g. Attorney General COS division chiefs section
chiefs directors supervisors direct reports) to advise on departmental
operations.
Represents agency on committees boards & commissions; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in human resources business or public administration
5 years of senior level management
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree
Previous State of Ohio human resources experience
