Reports to: Director of Financial Aid

This position assists students both new and continuing through the financial aid process through customer service support as well as handling financial aid processes key to helping students utilize the financial aid they are eligible for. The PS2 provides high quality services and support to prospective enrolled and returning students in a friendly fastpaced customerfocused environment. The PS2 will serve as the primary contact for financial aid customer service inquiries and will assist other members of Enrollment Services in managing the volume of financial aid inquiries as needed. The PS2 will handle complex financial aid inquiries that may require consultation with other financial aid team members or members of Enrollment Services. This position functions as program representative and resource has extensive contact with program participants and outside entities and resolves problems within a delegated area of authority. This position works under general supervision and is designed to increase enrollment and retention to the college by helping students navigate financial aid questions and assisting in the timely process of financial aid delivery. The employee will interpret and apply knowledge of applicable policies and procedures in providing courteous and professional customer service and in the resolution of inquires issues and complaint in addition to managing financial aid awarding and program work.

Essential Functions

  • Provide information and technical assistance to students staff and the public on financial aid processes and required steps.
  • Interpret and explain financial aid requirements including ISIR information Bio/Demo mismatches and multiple checklist items.
  • Ensure confidentiality of student information following federal FERPA and financial aid guidelines.
  • Review completed FAFSA applications & OC student financial aid applications for general awarding of federal state and institutional needbased financial aid
  • Review student files that require revisions to an existing award due to a change of enrollment or a change in eligibility
  • Review student ISIRs/OC financial aid applications for data validity
  • Document processing
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience assisting customers regarding inquiries complaints and problems
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree

Terms of Employment

Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

This is a fulltime classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week with a salary range of $43716 $58380annually.All classified positions will start their salary at Step A when you have completed six months of probation you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits:
