Position Summary
The Assistant Director Career Management will be responsible for providing individualized career coaching inclassroom career management programs and managing a portfolio of employer relationships for students enrolled in professional education courses and/or programs in the College of Professional Studies. The Assistant Director will collaborate with campus professional development teams faculty program directors student organizations alumni and University Advancement to promote internship and professional opportunities and meet with students to help them secure these opportunities. Some travel will be required. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Continuation is dependent upon continued funding through gifts and/or entrepreneurial tuition revenues. Duties And Responsibilities
50: Counsel and coach current students and certificate completers on internship and job search strategies and preparation using information gathered from employer conversations. Deliver virtual and/or oncampus career management presentations in connection with program faculty and integrated into the learning experience. Develop content collections on career management topics for online students to complete asynchronously. Create industryspecific content for website handouts and digital & print educational materials. 35 Create and manage relationships with employers and educate them about best practices for recruiting at the university for relevant professional education programs. Participate in employer relations strategy conversations and collaborate with the Career Center team. Using recruiting and student interest data identify target employers for outreach and travel to meet them. In collaboration with university faculty staff and alumni work to establish recruiting relationships with these organizations. Work with employers to feature positions to be added to Handshake and Nova Network. 10 Assist with tracking career outcomes for professional education students and report on outcomes data as needed. Coordinate with College of Professional Studies staff faculty and administration. 5 Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree required. Understanding of corporate hiring processes and career development trends. Awareness of inclusive hiring practices and interest in disability studies. Experience working with diverse populations. 2 5 years experience in related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to work with high profile employers students faculty and university administrators. Coaching skills event coordination and programming experience Ability to collaborate crossfunctionally in an office environment and to interface with various constituents of the University. Experienced in Microsoft Office and social media.
Preferred Qualifications
Sales orientation a plus.
