To provide a continuous onsite medical support service to meet the needs of patients consultants and nursing staff. This includes emergency procedures and providing a general service to all clinical areas
The Medical Directorate comprises of Resident Medical Officers Clavert Shoulder Fellows and Clinical Leads for designated services across the Hospital.
The Resident Medical Officers work closely with the ITU Fellows Senior Nurses as Duty Managers and Ward Managers.

Am I the right person for this Resident Medical Officer role
- Qualified doctor fully registered with GMC
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Completed within previous 6 months of employment
- Post graduate degree
- Minimum experience equivalent to that of a 2nd
- Year Senior House Officer
- Relevant UK Medical Healthcare experience
- Competent in emergency procedures e.g. intubations
- Experience in Orthopaedics Surgery
- Experience in General Medicine and Palliative Medicine
- RMO Healthcare Experience within private sector
What are the Responsibilities of this Resident Medical Officer role
- Complete a brief admission examination on each patient when appropriate and document clinical findings.
- Attend ward rounds with consulting staff as required and be available to discuss patient treatment plans.
- Provide a 24hour medical service within the hospital on an oncall basis permanently through 12 hour shifts.
- Inform admitting consultants of changes in medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken.
- Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regime for each individual patient.
- Perform clinical procedures as requested by consultant medical staff and nursing staff these may include phlebotomy and the giving of intravenous to patients.
- Initiate and alter inpatient prescriptions at consultants request.
- Write up to take home prescriptions for patients as required.
