Job Description
Job Summary: Nalanda Vidya Niketan is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Western Dance Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various Western dance styles and a passion for teaching students at different skill levels. As a Western Dance Teacher you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging dance lessons preparing students for performances and competitions and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive Western dance curriculum for students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Teach a variety of Western dance styles including but not limited to hip hop jazz contemporary and street dance.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity teamwork and discipline.
- Develop and conduct dance routines for school performances competitions and special events.
- Provide individualized feedback and coaching to help students improve their dance skills and reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to coordinate dancerelated activities and events.
- Maintain a safe and organized dance studio environment ensuring compliance with school policies and safety regulations.
- Keep records of student attendance progress and achievements.
- Stay updated on current trends and techniques in Western dance to continuously improve teaching methods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Dance Performing Arts or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Western Dance Teacher or Dance Instructor.
- Proficiency in multiple Western dance styles with the ability to teach a variety of genres.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fastpaced school environment.
Desirable Qualities:
- Experience in choreographing and directing dance performances.
- Knowledge of child development and educational psychology.
- Certifications in dance instruction or teaching methods.
- Experience in competitive dance coaching or judging.
